BK DT: Flower Tutorial~

Hello Everyone!

Today I wanted to share a simple and quick flower tutorial using the Forget Me Nots (0532) file. I used this file to make roses J.

Supplies:

You will need cardstock, water bottle/mini misters and adhesive. I personally like to use white cardstock and color the flowers with Glimmer Mist. Ink for edges and heating tool are optional.

1.       Open your Forget Me Nots (0532) file in Fun Time
2.       Break the group of flowers and remove the centers and leaves (optional) Leave centers if you are going to add steams.

3.       Once the file is cut, remove from your BossKut Gazelle mat. For smaller flowers, I use three layers, larger flowers I like to use five layers. * You may want to ink the edges of your flowers if you choose*

4.       Pinch all of your layers making sure the inter layer is pinched tighter than the outer layers.

5.       Starting with the center, cup the petals and glue (I like to use a glue gun).
6.       When gluing the middle to the second layer, add adhesive to the bottom and to the sides. *make sure not to put adhesive all the way to the top; you will need to bend the petals down later*

8.       Continue to layer the staggering them to the previous layer adding adhesive to the bottoms only.

1.       Once all of the layers are adhered, sprits the flower with water/glimmer mist just enough to get moist, but not overly saturated.
8A. Instead of using water, you may take a pen, embossing tool and bend the petals-it is harder to manipulate the petals using this method, but it works.

9.       Start to bend back the petals until you are satisfied with the rose.

10.       Wait until dry or speed the process with a heat tool
large flower 5 layers edges inked

Now you have a beautiful rose for your projects!
I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial. Pop over to BossKut to purchase this file and others. Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

Happy Mother's Day Box DT Project

Hello Krafters!

I know it is only March, but my mind is already on Mother’s Day! With everything that has been going on with my mom these last few weeks, this one will have to be extra special. I would like to share a gift idea with you for all of those special women in your life.

I made this treat container from a 3D file that can be found in your Fun Time Software Library. There are several images that can be found in the FT library that range from flowers to religion! Sweet! I know I was happy when I discovered all of the goodies available. You have enough to get started right out the box. All you need is paper and your imagination!
When I do projects with files, I like to not only use them for what they are but I like to see what else I can do with them. The roses and cherry blossoms were made from the same file which was the Forget Me Nots (0532). I also used a single layer of the Daisy (0616) file as a background flower.

The flowers are layered on top of the Round Lace Florette (0790). This cut is VERY detailed and the BossKut Gazelle had no problem cutting this lacy flower. Please note I only used the lacy part of the file!!!

I do not have a Happy Mother’s Day stamp so I used a marker for the sentiment. Can you tell I love using my own markers/pens? It is so simple to put a pen in the blade carriage of the BossKut Gazelle. Again, no extra accessories needed! Moving on, the sentiment is framed with the new Presleys Curls-JS file. I cannot begin to explain how nicely this file cut on my BossKut Gazelle. As you can see, this is a very detailed cut.

There you have it! A fast and beautiful gift to give to someone special! I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Don't forget to pop over to BossKut for more files and inspiration, Kenya~
*This project can be used for ANY occasion! Just fill it with your recipient’s favorite treat ;)*

Music Mini

Hello Krafters!

I am so excited to share today’s project! I usually start mini albums, but never complete them…well I can say I FINISHED ONE!! Yay ME! This mini was intended to have pictures of music icons that have passed on. However, I am not sure if I just want to put pictures of music icon both alive or who has passed.

I used my software and Gazelle to weld and cut my pages. I also cut the Floral Doily and tags with the Gazelle. The flowers are from I Am Roses and Stamping Scrapping. I sprayed them with Gold Glimmer Mist and Black Magic!

I really love how it turned out and I hope you do to! Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

Joshua 24

Hello Krafters,

I have really been into making tiles lately. They make wonderful home décor projects and gifts alike! I made this tile for a fellow laborer. One of my favorite scriptures is Joshua 24:15. I thought this was only fitting…
Check out how well the Gazelle cut out the vinyl! The cross and Bible are very thin! It is important to use a sticky mat and a new blade. If you don’t, you will become very frustrated.

I hope this project inspired you to try your own. Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

I'm On the Hunt~

Hello Krafters~
Today I am sharing perhaps the simplest layout I think I have ever done! It is not overly embellished, but I am happy with the way it turned out J

When it comes to Easter, I am pretty straight forward and traditional. However, my mom loves to have the girls do egg hunts and the whole nine yard! So I had a couple pictures from Easter past that would go perfect with the PKBorderGrass-JS file! To coordinate with the photos, I made the eggs that are hidden in the grass with a simple oval shape that can be found in Fun Time. The glitter paper cut effortlessly in the BossKut Gazelle at a speed of 3 and force of 5.

The title was made with two different types of fonts from Fun Time. I used the Forget Me Nots (0532) file for the smaller flowers. I really like how the BossKut Gazelle cut small items. It takes whatever I throw at it…tee hee!

To finish off the layout, I added a few pieces of pattern paper and some ribbon. I sprayed the base with a little glimmer mist to add a little oomph.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project! Please stop by BossKut for these files and inspiration! Kenya~

BK DT: Celebrate; He Lives

Hello Krafters~

Today I would likt to share a really quick and simple Easter card! My favorite flowers are Lilies and when I saw this Lilly file (BKD013), I KNEW I had to make a project with it!
This is a standard A2 sized card (4.25x5.5”). I used two cuts of the Lilly vines and mirrored one of them. Please note how well that stamen cut in the BossKut Gazelle! It is approximately .25” and look how thin they are!! Cut like butter at a speed of 1 and a force of 3.

For the sentiment, I used a green glitter pen and used a font that comes with the Fun Time software.

To finish off the card, I placed a piece of pattern paper to layer under the sentiment. I also ran the mat through an embossing folder for a little texture. To add some shimmer to the card, I used a clear glitter pen on the stem of the Lilies.

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Do not forget to stop by BossKut for more files, projects and inspiration! Kenya~
*This card would also make a nice sympathy card or Mother’s Day card ;)

He Has Risen! BK DT

Hello Krafters,

Easter is a few weeks away! In preparation, I made a quick and easy 4x4 tile to kick start my Easter home décor projects. For this project, you will need a vinyl, transfer tape and a vinyl blade. These items can be purchased at BossKut.

One thing I love about my BossKut Gazelle is its ability to cut vinyl! Remember when working with vinyl, you want to make sure your blade is barely peeking out of your blade holder. Also take it nice and slow! I used a force of 1 and speed of two. If the cuts were more detailed slow the speed down to one.

For the cuts, I used the newly released PK Grass (BKD095) and the Cross (0344). Another thing I love about the BossKut Gazelle and Fun Time are the fonts! I used a FT font for the sentiment; you can also use fonts that are on your computer! Cool right? To finish off the tile and to add a little flair, I added a rhinestone to the center. Rhinestones can also be purchased at BossKut.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Don’t forget to pop by BossKut for these files, materials and more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

BK DT Project: I Love Spring

Good Morning!

Today I am sharing my very first BossKut Design Team Project! This is a layout of my little cousin Akilah. I am so ready for spring and these pictures of her definitely put me in the mood!
BossKut has so many beautiful files to choose from, I had a hard time deciding what to cut first! I knew I wanted to use the Fancy Florette (0367). I used several of these in different sizes throughout the layout. The negatives did not go to waste; I used them as the flower centers and the smaller pinkflowers. Resourceful right? All of the larger flowers were cut from file 0389.
The cutouts from the orange flowers doubled as photo corners which were sprayed pink. I just have to add, the negatives of the flowers (0389) are so small yet they cut perfectly. Can you see the detail? Impressive!
For the flourishes, I used Swirls (0989). These cut beautifully on my BossKut Gazelle at a speed of 1 and force of 3. I do recommend using these settings instead of the settings recommended in Fun Time.

A great feature I love about the BossKut Gazelle is being able to use ANY marker or pen without extra accessories! I used a Copic marker for the title. I also enjoy the flexibility of using True Type Fonts from my computer.
I hope I didn’t disappoint! Don’t forget to pop over to BossKut.com for more files and inspiration! Thanks for stopping by, Kenya~

It Is "Sew" Your Birthday

Happy March 1st Krafters/Boss Kut Gazelle Lovers!

Today I am sharing a shape card I made using a sewing machine. I have friend who loves to sew and her birthday is soon. I thought this card would be fun and perfect for her.

I found a cut file in the library of a sewing machine. I added a shadow and welded two of them together. I really like how easy it is to add shadows to images! The files cut flawlessly in my Boss Kut Gazelle! For the top layer, I used Webster’s Pages Trendsetters. It has a fashion/sewing theme pattern. I love it and it was perfect for this project!

The dress form is also a cut file. I filled in the color instead of using the file as an iron type dress form. I did this so the dress form can not only be decoration for the card, but to double as a pin cushion. It is the card that keeps on giving LOL. I hope you try it out yourself. Pop on over to Boss Kut for more inspiration!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Don't forget to visit Boss Kut for more inspiration! Thank you for stopping by, Kenya~
